The 26th edition of the Jazz au Chellah Festival wrapped up on May 12 in Rabat, after having delighted the audience for three consecutive days with exceptional and diverse musical shows.
The closing was marked by a performance by the group “Elise Einarsdottir”, who masterfully mixed modern jazz, Swedish folklore, and the unique voice of singer Lena Willemark, thus creating a harmonious musical fusion, in the company of Moroccan artist Zahra Regragui, who enhanced this Scandinavian musical journey with warm Moroccan rhythms.
Jazz also had the opportunity to attend a musical show by the Italian group “JEMM” that was accompanied by Maâlem Gnaoui “Kania”, brother of the late Mahmoud Kania, alias “master of masters”, offering a journey through the fusion between European Jazz and Moroccan Gnaoua music with deep and authentic African roots.
The 26th edition of Jazz au Chellah was organized at the initiative of the Europan Union, in partnership with the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication, the Wilaya of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, and the Regional Development Agency “Rabat Région Patrimoine Historique”.
