The President of the Mexican Senate, Olga Sanchez Cordero, begins, from Friday, June 10, 2022, a visit to Morocco intended to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various fields. During this visit at the invitation of the President of the House of Councilors, Naama Mayara, Ms. Sanchez Cordera will be accompanied by the President of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Mexican Senate, and the Senator, President of the Foreign Relations Committee for Asia, the Pacific and Africa, Cora Cecilia Pinedo Alonso.
“This visit will be an opportunity to strengthen cooperation between Rabat and Mexico City, particularly in terms of migration management and the fight against climate change, among other issues of common interest,” said Ms. Cordero during the meeting. a meeting held on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 with the Ambassador of the Kingdom to Mexico, Abdelfattah Lebbar.
The Mexican official, who was accompanied by the delegation that she will lead to Morocco, expressed, on this occasion, her desire that this visit could contribute to giving new impetus to bilateral cooperation, through more coordination and consultations between the parliaments and institutions of the two countries.
In this regard, she affirmed that Mexico attaches importance to its cooperation with Morocco, also in terms of the legalization of cannabis for medicinal and industrial purposes, the strengthening of gender equality as well as in the field of renewable energies. .
