OIC Highlights Important Role of Al-Quds Committee, Chaired by HM King Mohammed VI

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) reiterated the importance of the role played by al-Quds Committee, chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, in confronting the dangerous policies implemented by the Israeli authorities in al-Quds Asharif.

The final statement, issued following the open-ended extraordinary meeting of the Organization’s Executive Committee in Jeddah on May 24, which focused on the continuous Israeli attacks on al-Aqsa Mosque, stresses the important role that al-Quds Committee plays in confronting the dangerous policies implemented by the Israeli occupation authorities in al-Quds Acharif aimed at changing the Holy City’s identity and legal status, and its demographic, cultural, and historical composition.

The extraordinary meeting, held at the request of Palestine and Jordan, and in coordination with Saudi Arabia, the current President of the Islamic Summit and Chairman of the Executive Committee, also praised the role of Bayt Mal al-Quds Asharif Agency.

The document asserted that al-Quds Endowments and the Blessed al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs Department affiliated with the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs, and Holy Sites is the authority entitled to manage the affairs of the Blessed al-Aqsa Mosque, reaffirming the right of Palestine to sovereignty over the occupied city of East al-Quds.
