The Asilah Forum Foundation announced, on July 3, that the 44th edition of the International Cultural Moussem will be held in two versions (July and October), similar to the previous year.
Under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, this edition is organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Communication (Culture Department) and the municipality of Asilah.
The Foundation reported that the summer version is scheduled to be held between July 4 and 25 and will be devoted to plastic arts and will be marked by the organization of two colloquia entitled “Moroccan contemporary art and the cultural matter” (Jule 14 and 15) and “Moroccan painting and critical discourse” (July 20 and 21), as well as a tribute to the painter Abdelkbir Rabie (July 16).
Following Moussem’s tradition since 1978, the artistic program includes a mural painting workshop (July 4 and 9), with the participation of thirteen artists who will paint the walls and ramparts of the old medina during this period.
Budding enthusiasts will have the chance to participate in the “Children’s Mural Painting Workshop,” under the guidance of painter Kaoutar Chergui.
Between July 10 and 25, the Foundation will organize workshops in the plastic arts (mural painting, engraving, and lithography), with the participation of twenty-nine artists from different nationalities.
According to the Foundation, the galleries of Hassan II International Meetings Center will host, starting from July 15, a joint exhibition by the two Moroccan artists Narjiss El Joubari and Mohamed Anzaoui and an exhibition of works by the “Moussem Children’s Workshop,” alongside the children’s painting workshop “the talents of Moussem.”
The Fine Arts program also includes a collective exhibition by “Asilah’s Young Painters” (Young Zaylachi Artists) at the Diwan Exhibition Gallery, while the galleries of Raissouni Palace (Palace of Culture) will be adorned by the works of Moroccan painter Mouad Jebbari.
As for the Prince Bandar Bin Sultan Library, it will host the educational program of the “Literary Creativity” workshop, organized for approximately 100 students from secondary schools in Asilah, under the guidance of Professor Mustapha Baalich.
The fall version of the 44th edition of the Moussem will take place between October 6 to 27, and will witness the participation of about 350 researchers, thought leaders, influential decision-makers, poets, and media professionals.
