The Moroccan Agency for Investment and Exports Development (AMDIE) announced that Morocco will participate in the 8th edition of AEROMART, an international business convention on the aerospace industry taking place between April 04 and 06 in Montreal, Canada.
The Moroccan Agency said in a statement that this event brings together over 3,000 participants and 1,500 companies from 45 different countries, with Morocco being the only African country represented, which reflects Morocco’s success in a landscape usually dominated by North American and European stakeholders.
The Moroccan delegation to this edition is led by the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Investment, Convergence, and Evaluation of Public Policies, Mohcine Jazouli, accompanied by the Director General of the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Exports Development (AMDIE), Ali Seddiki, President of the Moroccan Aerospace Industries Association (GIMAS), Karim Sheikh, as well as several Moroccan companies operating in the aerospace sector.
The Agency recalled that thanks to the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Morocco has established itself as one of the main destinations of the aviation sector worldwide, noting that today, 142 companies operate in the Moroccan aviation industry, which employs nearly 20,000 people and generates an annual revenue of 2 billion dollars.
Quoted in the Agency’s statement, Jazouli emphasized that “AEROMART Montreal is an ideal opportunity to join industry leaders and build partnerships and agreements on a grand scale.”
“Today, Morocco is strongly positioned to attract more clients and investments, since it provides one of the most competitive aerospace industries internationally,” added Jazouli.
“Canada is a major actor in the aerospace industry, and strengthening the links between the Moroccan market and its Canadian counterpart is of strategic importance,” added the Minister Delegate.
On the sidelines of this event, the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Exports Development (AMDIE) and the Moroccan Aerospace Industries Association (GIMAS) will also hold a conference dedicated to introducing investment opportunities in Morocco under the theme “In Morocco, unleash your ambitions”.
This conference will be an opportunity to present Morocco’s assets to possible investors, particularly Morocco’s competitive industrial ecosystems, the quality of its human capital, its potential for decarbonization, and the ongoing development of the business environment. The conference will also highlight the achievements of companies established in Morocco such as the recent installation of the Canadian company GAL via a production unit of aircraft cabins to create 240 direct jobs.
The Moroccan Agency for Investment and Exports Development (AMDIE) supports the socio-economic development of Morocco through its actions of promotion, canvassing, and support of investment and export, while the promotion of Morocco’s economy internationally is achieved through the brand Morocco Now, a Gold sponsor of AEROMART Montreal.
