Per the High Directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, all measures have been taken to shelter the populations affected by the earthquake that struck several regions of the Kingdom and protect them from bad weather.
Tents have been set up in all the villages affected by the earthquake, particularly in the commune of Adassil in Chichaoua, one of the areas hardest hit by this natural disaster.
Thanks to the efforts of all the relevant parties, all the citizens whose houses had been completely or partially demolished by the earthquake were rehoused in tents, which would also provide them with protection against any bad weather.
According to local sources, the same rehousing dynamic was applied in the other villages and douars affected by the earthquake which resulted in the passing of 2,946 and injured 5,674 as per the latest provisional data.
These efforts have been highly praised by beneficiaries whose homes were completely destroyed or suffered partial cracks.
In statements to Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP), several residents hailed the high level of care that His Majesty King Mohammed VI never ceases to show citizens in all circumstances, praising the strong, rapid, and proactive response of the public authorities to provide accommodation for the affected populations to protect them from the unstable weather conditions in this mountainous area.
Access to the affected villages and douars is ensured thanks to the exemplary and ongoing mobilization of local authorities, the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, the Moroccan Red Crescent, the Royal Gendarmerie, Auxiliary Forces, Civil Protection and other relevant institutions.
A tremendous effort was made, and within hours of the earthquake, food and assistance were delivered to the stricken population, both by air and land.
