Preliminary information from the investigation indicated that the suspects, who professed their allegiance to the terrorist organization Daesh, were planning to execute a series of dangerous terrorist projects. For this purpose, they prepared several digital materials related to their terrorist plans.
The Central Bureau (BCIJ) further underlined that these investigations revealed that the suspects were planning to flee Morocco to join the camps of Daesh in the Sahel region, after executing their terrorist plans, with the help of one of the groups affiliated with Daesh, noting that the suspects were taken into custody for investigation, under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office on terrorism, in order to disclose this cell’s divisions, and identify its plans and disruptive schemes.
The Central Bureau’s (BCIJ) statement concluded that the arrest of these suspects occurs in a context marked by the rise of terrorist threats and the commitment of global terrorist organizations and their regional affiliates to increasing their disruptive operations.
