The honorable position of His Majesty King Mohammed VI on the Palestinian cause was commended, Saturday, on the occasion of a meeting of the Council of Arab Ambassadors in Brazil.
Palestinian Ambassador to Brazil, Ibrahim Alzeben, praised Morocco and His Majesty King Mohammed VI for His honorable position in support of the Palestinian cause and His Majesty’s wise chairmanship of al-Quds Committee.
“In Palestine, we are able to live thanks to you. We appreciate the Arab position, particularly that of Morocco that gives us comfort,” added Albezen on the sidelines of the meeting held in response to the Israeli forces’ incursion into Al-Aqsa Mosque, as well as the assault on worshippers during the holy month of Ramadan.
Alzeben stated that through this meeting of the Arab ambassadors, the Council aims to inform the Brazilian public opinion of the official Arab position on “the wrongful aggression against the holy places of Islam and Christianity,” adding that “this is the message we are sending to this ally and supporter of the Palestinian cause.”
In a statement, the Council called for “respecting the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque, through the legal guardianship status held by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the work of al-Quds Committee under the chairmanship of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.”
In a similar context, the Council condemned “the Israeli violations and attacks in Jerusalem and particularly in Al-Aqsa Mosque, calling for the protection of Jerusalem’s Islamic and Christian Holy Places.”
The Council of Arab Ambassadors in Brazil is confident that “Brazil, both the government and civil society, will maintain and preserve its legalistic, constructive and reasonable position towards the Middle East conflict, with constant support to the Palestinians to establish a sovereign permanent state, with East Jerusalem as its capital.”
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Morocco strongly condemned the incursion of Israeli forces into al-Aqsa Mosque and the aggression and terrorization of worshippers during this holy month of Ramadan.
Morocco also stressed the need to respect the legal, religious, and historical status of Al-Quds and the Holy Places and to avoid all practices and violations that are likely to destroy all chances for peace in the region.
