His Majesty King Mohammed VI announced Tuesday Morocco’s joint bid with Spain and Portugal to host the FIFA World Cup 2030.
“I would like to announce, before this Assembly, that the Kingdom of Morocco has decided, together with Spain and Portugal, to present a joint bid to host the FIFA World Cup 2030,” stated His Majesty King Mohammed VI in a message on the occasion of the presentation of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) President’s Outstanding Achievement Award 2022.
His Majesty the King noted in this message, which was delivered by the Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Chakib Benmoussa, that this joint bid, unprecedented in the history of football, will narrow the gap between Africa and Europe, the north and south of the Mediterranean, and the African, Arab and Euro-Mediterranean worlds.
The Sovereign also stressed that this candidacy will be that of gathering around the best on both sides, and the demonstration of an alliance of brilliance, innovation, expertise, and resources.
