Within the framework of the brotherly work visit that His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah assist Him, is conducting to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the invitation of the President of State, HH Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Sovereign and the Emirati President chaired, on December 4 at the “Qasr Al Watan” Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi, the ceremony of exchange of several memorandums of understanding (MOUs) between the Kingdom of Morocco and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The first memorandum aims to establish an investment partnership in the Kingdom’s TGV projects and was exchanged between the Emirati Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Suhail Mohamed Faraj Al Mazrouei, and the Director General of the Moroccan National Railways Office (ONCF), Mohamed Rabii Khlie.
The second memorandum focuses on the establishment of an investment partnership in the water sector and was discussed between the Emirati Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Suhail Mohamed Faraj Al Mazrouei, and the Moroccan Minister of Equipment and Water, Nizar Baraka, while the third memorandum, which relates to the establishment of a partnership in the field of development was exchanged between the Emirati Minister of Investment, Mohammed Hassan Alsuwaidi and the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Economy and Finance, in charge of the Budget, Faouzi Lekjaa.
Concluded between Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) and the OCP Group, the fourth memorandum of understanding was exchanged between the Emirati Minister of Investment, Mohammed Hassan Alsuwaidi, and the CEO of the OCP Group, Mostafa Terrab.
The fifth memorandum on the establishment of an investment partnership in the energy sector was exchanged between Minister Alsuwaidi and the Moroccan Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Leila Benali.
Relating to cooperation and partnership in the agriculture and maritime fisheries sectors, the sixth memorandum was exchanged between the Emirati Minister of Climate Change and Environment, Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri, and the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, Mohamed Sadiki, while the seventh, which aims to establish cooperation and investment in the airport sector, was exchanged between Minister Alsuwaidi and the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Mohamed Abdeljalil.
The eighth memorandum of understanding, which focuses on the establishment of investment cooperation in the ports sector, was exchanged between Minister Alsuwaidi and Minister Nizar Baraka, while the ninth one on to the establishment of an investment partnership relating to the Morocco-Nigeria Gas Pipeline project, was exchanged between Minister Alsuwaidi and the Managing Director of the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines (ONHYM), Amina Benkhadra
Relating to the establishment of common cooperation in the sector of financial and capital markets, the tenth memorandum was exchanged between Minister Alsuwaidi and the Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fettah, while the eleventh, which relates to building an investment partnership in the tourism and real estate sector, was exchanged between Minister Alsuwaidi and the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Investment, Convergence, and the Evaluation of Public Policies, Mohcine Jazouli.
Regarding the twelfth memorandum, which aims to establish an investment partnership in Data Center projects, it was exchanged between Minister Alsuwaidi and the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Investment, Convergence, and the Evaluation of Public Policies, Mohcine Jazouli.
Signed by Moroccan officials and their Emirati counterparts, these memorandums will give a strong impetus to cooperation relations between Morocco and the UAE, and consolidate the multidimensional strategic partnership linking the two brotherly countries, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan.
The memorandum exchange ceremony took place in the presence of members of the official delegation accompanying His Majesty King Mohammed VI, as well as several senior Emirati officials.
