Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, stressed, Wednesday in Rabat, that Morocco is concerned about some statements made by members of the Israeli government aimed at provoking Arab countries and the rights of Palestinians, asserting that the Kingdom “condemns and constantly rejects all irresponsible behavior and attitudes that may result in negative repercussions.”
During a press briefing following his meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Burkinabe abroad, Olivia Ragnaghnèwendé Rouamba, Bourita said that Morocco, under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of al-Quds Committee, believes that dialogue and negotiations are the only way to achieve a definitive solution to the Palestinian cause in the context of respect for the Palestinians legitimate rights to establish their state according to the June 1967 borders, with East Al-Quds as its capital, coexisting side by side, in serenity and cooperation with the State of Israel.
Bourita further noted that Morocco’s position, in this regard, is in line with international legal provisions, the Arab Peace Initiative, and Security Council (SC) resolutions. The Moroccan minister concluded that Morocco “condemns unilateral actions that can hinder reaching a solution and supports all initiatives that would encourage peace in order to find a middle-ground in accordance with the internationally agreed-upon two-state solution approach.”
