Knesset Speaker, Amir Ohana, stressed, on June 8 in Rabat during his working visit to the Kingdom, that Israel must recognize the Moroccanity of the Sahara.
“As a descendant of this blessed land, I say now very clearly that Israel should move toward the goal of recognizing Moroccan Sahara,” declared Ohana following the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami.
The Israeli official also affirmed that serious discussions on the Moroccan Sahara are underway within the Israeli government, adding that the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, will announce a decision soon.
The Israeli Knesset Speaker is on a two-day working visit to Morocco, the first official visit of a Knesset Speaker to the parliament of a Muslim country.
