Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami, held talks, Monday in Rabat, with the First Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, Malungo Chisangano, and the accompanying parliamentary delegation on the importance of strengthening parliamentary coordination through constant consultation and coordination and exchange of working visits.
The House of Representatives reported that this meeting, also attended by the President of the Morocco-Zambia Parliamentary Friendship Group, Mohamed El-Hejira, and the Chargé d’affaires at the Zambian Embassy in Rabat, Eliphas Chinyonga, focused on the parliamentary expertise of both Morocco and Zambia, as well as on the structure, mandates, and procedures of work and management of the two legislative institutions.
On this occasion, Talbi Alami gave an overview of the characteristics of the Moroccan electoral system and Morocco’s parliamentary expertise, focusing on the procedures relating to the monitoring of parliamentary activities and the rules of conduct and work within the Parliament.
For her part, Chisangano underlined that this visit aims to promote the exchange of expertise, presenting in this regard an overview of the Zambian National Assembly, its structure, and its activities.
The Zambian official further emphasized the importance of constant coordination and cooperation between the Moroccan and Zambian parliaments with the aim of expanding parliamentary action and achieving higher levels of efficiency.
It should be noted that the delegation of Zambia’s National Assembly, on a working visit to Morocco between April 15 and 22, will hold talks with several officials and representatives, and conduct on-site visits to explore major projects initiated by the Kingdom.
