The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Malawi, Nancy Tembo, reaffirmed, on December 18, in Rabat, her country’s support for Morocco’s territorial integrity.
This position was expressed in a joint press release following Tembo’s meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates.
According to the press release, Malawi supports the Kingdom’s territorial and commends the efforts of the United Nations (UN) as an exclusive framework to achieve a realistic, practical, and lasting political solution to the dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.
Malawi also reaffirmed its constant support for the Moroccan Autonomy Plan, describing it as the only credible and realistic solution for the resolution of this dispute.
The Malawian foreign minister is on an official visit to Morocco from December 17 to 21 for the inauguration of her country’s embassy in Rabat and the operationalization of its consulate general in Laâyoune.
During her visit, Tembo will also explore the Kingdom’s southern provinces to observe the economic and social development as well as the political and democratic dynamics that this region is experiencing.
This visit will also be an opportunity to witness the progress made in terms of the implementation of the New Development Model for the Southern provinces, launched in 2015 by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah assist Him.
