Under High Royal Instructions, Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity has kicked off Operation Marhaba 2023 to welcome Moroccans residing abroad from Monday, June 5, until Friday, September 15.
The Foundation reported in a statement that it has set up a global reception system in Morocco, France, Italy, and Spain in 24 assistance and support sites for community members, adding that these sites will remain operational throughout the operation period during the arrival and return phases.
In a similar context, the Foundation noted the availability of eighteen reception areas in the ports of Tanger Med, Tanger Ville, Al Hoceima, and Nador and the airports of Casablanca Mohammed V, Rabat-Salé, Oujda Angad, Nador, Agadir Al Massira, Fez Saïss, Marrakech Menara, and Tangier Ibn Battouta, as well as the Mediterranean, Jebha, Tazaghine, and Smir M’Diq rest areas, and at Bab Sebta and Mellilia border crossings.
Six Marhaba spaces are located abroad at the European ports of Genoa (Italy), Sète and Marseille (France), Motril, Almeria, and Algeciras (Spain).
Social and medical assistance services, mobilized by social assistants on board long-haul ships established for the 2021 edition of the operation, will operate at Marhaba reception sites set up by the Foundation in Morocco and abroad.
In addition, a workforce of nearly 1.400 people including the Foundation’s staff, social workers, doctors, paramedical staff, and volunteers, will be at the disposal of Moroccans residing abroad to provide them with the necessary support.
The Marhaba Call Service is managed by the Central Coordination Office and will be available 24/7 for the duration of the operation.
