The Royal Family and all Moroccans celebrate, on June 20, in happiness and joy, the 53rd birthday of His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, a happy event offering an opportunity for all Moroccans to convey their warm congratulations and sincere wishes of happiness and long life to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, and the Illustrious Royal Family.
Born in Rabat on June 20, 1970, His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid graduated with honors in May 1993 from the Faculty of Legal, Economic, and Social Sciences in Rabat, with a degree in Public Law and a diploma in Comparative Law. Three years later, in June 1996, His Royal Highness obtained a second certificate of higher studies (International Relations) with honors.
HRH Prince Moulay Rachid publicly defended, in 2001 at the Montesquieu-Bordeaux IV University, a doctoral thesis in Law on “The Organisation of the Islamic Conference: Study of a Specific International Organization,” and graduated with the distinction “Very Honorable” with congratulations from the jury and special mention for His publication, in recognition of the interest of the subject and the quality of the work.
From an early age, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid has been involved in cultural, social, and sporting activities. Since 1997, His Royal Highness has presided over the Moroccan National Federation of Scouting’s (FNSM) missions to give it a new impetus.
HRH Prince Moulay Rachid is also President of the Royal Moroccan Hunting Arms Shooting Federation, the Marrakech International Film Festival Foundation, and Hassan II Golf Trophy Association, and since January 2018, His Royal Highness has also been President of the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation (FRMG).
HRH Prince Moulay Rachid has also been involved in several activities, participating in different Royal events and presiding over official activities in Morocco and abroad.
His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid has also represented His Majesty the King at major national and international events.
On behalf of His Majesty the King, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid attended the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, which took place at Westminster Abbey in London and took part in a reception offered by HM King Charles III to the VIPs who attended the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.
On September 25, 2022, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid presided over the His Majesty King Mohammed VI Grand Prix for a three-star (3*) show jumping competition at the Royal Cavalry School in Temara.
On November 7, His Royal Highness represented His Majesty the King at the proceedings of the Heads of State and Government segment of the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 27), which took place in Egypt. HRH Prince Moulay Rachid also attended a reception hosted by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sissi in honor of the heads of state and delegations participating in COP27.
HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, President of the Foundation of the Marrakech International Film Festival, chaired a dinner in Marrakech offered by His Majesty King Mohammed VI to inaugurate the 19th edition of the Festival.
On February 10, His Royal Highness chaired a gala dinner in Rabat offered by His Majesty King Mohammed VI to mark the 47th edition of Hassan II Golf Trophy and the 26th edition of the Lalla Meryem Cup.
HRH Prince Moulay Rachid and HRH Princess Lalla Meryem chaired the award ceremony for the winners of the 47th edition of Hassan II Trophy and the 26th edition of the Lalla Meryem Golf Cup at Dar Es-Salam Royal Golf Club in Rabat.
In May, His Royal Highness chaired, at Mechouar Stinia “Sahrij Souani” in Meknes, a dinner offered by His Majesty King Mohammed VI in honor of the guests and participants at the 15th International Agricultural Exhibition in Morocco (SIAM).
HRH Prince Moulay Rachid also represented His Majesty the King in the 32nd session of the Arab Summit in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
