A delegation of Ulemas participating in religious talks during the holy month of Ramadan, paid a visit on April 4, to the headquarters of Bayt Mal Al Quds Asharif Agency in Rabat to review the results of the humanitarian operation launched per the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of Al-Quds Committee, in favor of the Palestinian populations of Gaza and Al Quds.
During this visit, which took place in the presence of the Managing Director of Bayt Mal Al Quds Asharif Agency, Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, and Palestine’s Ambassador to Morocco, Jamal Al Shobaki, the coordinator of programs and projects of the Agency in Al-Quds, Ismail Ramli, showcased the results of this humanitarian operation via videoconference.
In his presentation, Ramli shed light on the progress achieved, which enabled the transport by land to Gaza of more than 40 tons of food to the population of Gaza, in addition to the distribution in Al Quds of 2,200 food baskets and 1,000 daily meals for the benefit of orphanages, accommodation centers, Koran houses, and hospices.
Collective iftar meals were also offered free of charge in the esplanades of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Selouane, Bayt Hanina, and Shaafate as well as isolated localities, including Nabi Samuel, Al-Ayzariah, and Qalandiya.
As part of this humanitarian operation, the vigilance cell for monitoring emergency cases at the Red Crescent Hospital in Al Quds was equipped with central units, large display screens, tablets, mobile communication equipment, oxygen cylinders, and other equipment.
Around 50 ambulance kits containing 42 items of equipment and medicines for emergency cases were also distributed as part of this humanitarian operation in the presence of representatives of the East Jerusalem Hospitals Network (EJHN).
During their visit to the headquarters of Bayt Mal Al Quds Asharif Agency, the members of the delegation also attended an exhibition of the Moroccan art of calligraphy and decoration celebrating the virtues of Al Quds, under the theme “Hymns of the Letters from Al-Aqsa to Al-Aqsa”, organized with the support of Bayt Mal Al Quds Acharif Agency until the end of the month of Ramadan.
In a statement to the press, Cherkaoui indicated that this visit was an opportunity for the Ulemas delegation to learn about the distribution of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian populations, an unprecedented qualitative operation that has instilled hope in the Palestinians.
For his part, the representative of the spokesperson for the Qadiriya fraternity in Senegal, Abderrahmane Konta, affirmed that through Mohammed VI Foundation for African Ulema, His Majesty King Mohammed VI succeeded in bringing together 38 African countries, emphasizing that the efforts of the Sovereign constitute a model to follow by all Muslim countries.
Konta also commended the Royal initiative which allowed the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza and other Palestinian territories by land, which testifies to the solid ties uniting Morocco and Palestine.
In the same context, the imam and preacher of the General Authority of Endowments and Islamic Affairs in the region of Zouara, in Libya, Moussa Al Karaoui, welcomed this visit which allowed the delegation to understand the importance of the aid delivered by land to Gaza and the Al Qquds to help relieve the suffering of the Palestinian people in these difficult circumstances.
