Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, presided over the 4th meeting of the National Steering Committee for the organization of the Annual Meetings of the World Bank (WB) Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), scheduled to take place in Marrakech in October.
The Annual Meetings are expected to bring together 14,000 high-level participants, including Ministers of Economy and Finance and Governors of Central Banks from the 189 member countries.
The meeting focused on examining the latest arrangements for finalizing Morocco’s preparations at all levels to host this major international event, which provides an opportunity for the Kingdom to showcase its vision on numerous issues relating to current and future challenges and voice Africa’s concerns to the international community.
During the meeting, Akhannouch recalled that Morocco has established itself as a leading destination for hosting global events requiring high organization quality, thanks to the exceptional development process that the Kingdom has undergone over the last two decades under the Enlightened Leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
The Moroccan official also stressed that the choice of the Kingdom to host a global meeting of the level of the annual general meetings of the World Bank (WB) Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) reflects the special interest that the international financial institutions attach to the Kingdom.
