The 15th edition of the MEDays International Forum, organized by Amadeus Institute under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah assist Him, will kick off on November 15 in Tangier.
In light of current events, the cross-cutting theme of “Polycrisis, Polyworld” will be particularly prominent throughout 50 sessions over four days. With over 250 speakers, political and economic decision-makers, and over 5,000 participants from nearly 100 countries, the MEDays International Forum is the world’s sole open geopolitical forum in Africa and the Arab world.
The first day of the Forum will once again be devoted to the MEDays Investments Summit, a privileged meeting space for the political and economic worlds, which will provide an opportunity to discuss topics such as economic integration, infrastructure and industry, education, sustainable development, and energy, particularly ahead of the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 28).
The other three days will examine the new international order emerging with the rise of multiple powers, such as China, Russia, and India, which are undermining the dominance of the United States and the West. In parallel, non-state actors such as transnational corporations, non-governmental organizations, and international organizations have also gained considerable importance, adding further complexity to achieving effective and inclusive global governance.
Participants in this edition of the MEDays Forum will particularly focus on recent crises.
The MEDays Forum will also put particular emphasis on the issues of separatism, political instability, polarization, and multilateralism in an attempt to suggest solutions and recommendations to these issues.
In addition, two sessions will be devoted to the tripartite hosting by Morocco, Portugal, and Spain of the 2030 FIFA World Cup, and its multiple interrelationships, bridging the gap between economics, politics, and sport.
The 15th edition of MEDays will mainly focus on regional and continental integration, Morocco’s positioning as a gateway to Africa, the challenges facing the African Union, security and stability, and the direct and indirect impact of current ongoing conflicts on the continent.
Similar to the previous years, MEDsays will be attended by several Heads of State and Government, including President of the Union of the Comoros and current Chairman of the African Union (AU), H.E. Azali Assoumani, President of the Republic of Sao Tomé and Principe, H.E. Carlos Vila Nova, and Prime Minister of Dominica and Chairman of the Caribbean Community, H.E. Roosevelt Skerrit.
