American airlines announced today that they are canceling more than 1,000 new flights due to the winter storms.
The total number of flights that have been canceled so far during the past three days has reached more than 5,700 flights, after storms disrupted work at airports in a number of US states.
FlightAware, a flight tracking website, stated that the cancellation of today’s flights came in the wake of the cancellation of approximately 2,700 flights “Thursday” and about 2,000 flights yesterday, “Friday.”
The Amtrak rail company also canceled dozens of trains, disrupting thousands of holiday travel.
