The Executive Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) reaffirmed, Saturday in Jeddah, the importance of the role of al-Quds Committee, chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, in countering the dangerous policies implemented by Israeli occupation authorities in Al-Quds Asharif.
This importance was reaffirmed in the closing statement issued following the open-ended extraordinary meeting of the Organization’s Executive Committee, which discussed the ongoing Israeli attacks on al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Organization highlighted the important role of al-Quds Committee in confronting Israeli policies aimed at changing the identity and legal status of the holy city, as well as its demographic, cultural, and historical composition while commending Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency for its role in this regard.
The Member States and the General Secretariat of the Organization called for urgent measures to address these severe attacks, implement the mechanisms outlined in the relevant resolutions, and reach out to the relevant international bodies, notably the Security Council (SC).
These messages should express the Organization’s positions on this matter and must emphasize the provision of international protection for all Palestinians, the occupied city of Al-Quds Asharif, and the city’s holy places, namely Al-Aqsa Mosque, in the face of illegal attempts to change the current legal and historical situation.
