Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, chaired, Monday in Rabat, a meeting of the Strategic Committee for Social Protection on the review of the assessment of several programs, and the practical measures aimed at generalizing the social protection system.
The department of the Head of Government reported in a statement that this meeting was an opportunity to follow up on the ongoing implementation of the generalization of medical coverage, in its aspects of the mandatory health insurance (AMO) and “AMO Tadamon.”
This meeting was also an opportunity to examine the progress of the implementation of the National Population Register (RNP) and the Unified Social Register (RSU) in 2023, which are mechanisms supporting the reform and consolidation of social assistance programs, as well as practical measures for the generalization of the social assistance program in 2024, in light of the implementation of the reform of the unemployment insurance program in 2025.
According to the same source, Akhannouch urged the relevant authorities to encourage citizens to join the AMO scheme, dedicated to nonsalaried workers and people unable to contribute.
The Head of Government further called on the relevant administrations to encourage citizens to register their families in the Unified Social Register, in order to allow them to benefit, by the end of this year, from numerous social services, including family allowance.
This meeting was attended by Minister of the Interior, Abdelouafi Laftit, Secretary General of the Government, Mohamed El Hajjoui, Minister Delegate to the Minister of Economy and Finance, responsible for the Budget, Faouzi Lekjaa, Director General of the National Social Security Fund, Hassan Boubrik, as well as the Secretaries General of the Department of the Head of Government, the Ministry of the Interior and the Office of the High Commission for Planning.
