German Minister of Foreign Affairs, Annalena Baerbock, affirmed on July 6 in Berlin, that Morocco is a long-standing leader in the fight against climate change thanks to the Wise Leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
During a joint press conference with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, Baerbock emphasized that Morocco has adopted the best standards in the region in the fight against climate change, through several actions, including the Kingdom’s ambitious national objective to reduce CO2 emissions.
The German official also affirmed that Morocco’s efforts are reflected in “highly concrete” results, citing the Noor Solar Power Plant, which supplies about 1.3 million people with clean electricity.
In a similar context, Baerbock praised Morocco and Germany’s partnership in terms of energy transition, adding that green hydrogen cooperation between the two countries was at the heart of her discussions with Bourita.
Germany’s Foreign Minister affirmed that both Morocco and Germany are committed to working together on projects in the renewable energies sector.
