Morocco snatched, on August 1 Kinshasa, a hat-trick of gold, silver, and bronze medals in the women’s 1.500 meters at the ninth edition of the Francophone Games, underway in the Democratic Republic of Congo until August 6.
With a record of 4:44:55, Wafa Zaroual snatched the gold medal, Soukaina Hajji took home silver (4:44:98), while Rababe Arafi won bronze (4:45:42).
Following the first four days of the games, Morocco is currently leading the medals ranking with 20 medals, including eight gold, six silver, and six bronze.
The 9th edition of the Francophone Games brings together almost 2.500 young athletes, aged between 18 and 35, representing 88 countries, including Morocco, to participate in several sporting disciplines and cultural activities.
