The Minister of Interior, Abdelouafi Laftit, held a meeting, on October 31 in Rabat, with the German Federal Minister of the Interior and Territory, Nancy Faeser, on bilateral topics of common interest and ways of strengthening security cooperation between the two countries.
According to a statement by the Moroccan Ministry of the Interior, the meeting, which was attended by senior officials from the Moroccan and German ministries, was an opportunity to discuss issues relating to countering terrorism, extremism, and illegal immigration in light of different emerging threats, based on Morocco and Germany’s commitment to the importance of proactive prevention. to limit these crimes.
During this meeting, the two parties emphasized the need to reinforce the dynamic exchange of information and expertise for greater efficiency and effectiveness in terms of security cooperation between Morocco and Germany and strengthen operational cooperation to counter cross-border crime to ward off all dangers threatening the safety and peace of the two countries’ citizens.
The meeting was crowned by the signing of a joint declaration of intent between the Moroccan and German Ministries of Interior aimed at strengthening cooperation in security, migration, civil protection, and the fight against cross-border crime and its types, based on equality, equal treatment, common interest, and mutual respect.
