The second edition of “Dakhla Green Week” will take place between November 15 and 19.
According to a press release by the organizers, this versatile event, which coincides with the commemoration of the 68th anniversary of Independence Day and the 48th anniversary of the Glorious Green March, will be marked by eco-responsible activities focusing on sustainable development designed for youth, as well as the organization of a series of musical evenings, with the participation of a plethora of local artists to promote cultural entertainment in the pearl of the South.
The same source added that these activities, which will be organized in partnership with schools and associations in the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, aim to instill exemplary civic values and actions in new generations.
The event’s program includes a series of eco-responsible actions targeting future generations, to encourage them to realize the importance of protecting marine and terrestrial flora, keeping the city’s beaches and alleyways clean, and planting trees.
The press release also stated that Dakhla’s town squares will highlight Hassanie culture and its strong messages, noting that the pearl of the South will vibrate to the rhythms of artistic evenings with local Hassanie sounds, performed by local artists and troupes.
In addition, the organizers are planning to set up a children’s village dedicated to fun activities and arts and crafts workshops, along with mini-shows and awareness-raising campaigns on the rational use of water.
