Coastal surveillance units of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) intercepted, on December 26, 120 km north of Dakhla, an inflatable boat with 44 Sub-Saharan Africans on board, including 13 women and 3 minors, candidates for irregular migration.
According to a press release from the FAR’s General Staff, the rescued individuals received the necessary care before being handed over to the Royal Gendarmerie for the standard administrative procedures.
It should be noted that a royal navy unit conducting a sea patrol mission, intercepted, the same day, 150 km from the city of Dakhla, a canoe with 51 Sub-Saharan Africans on board, heading towards the Canary Islands.
The rescued people received the necessary first aid before being transported to the port of Dakhla and turned over to the Royal Gendarmerie for the standard administrative procedures.
