The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, arrived in Rome on January 28 to represent His Majesty King Mohammed VI at the “Italy-Africa: A Bridge for Common Growth” Summit, which is underway until January 29.
This Summit falls within the framework of the series of meetings organized by the Italian government, the main one being the Conference on Development and Migration, which took place in Rome last July.
During this summit, Italy will share with African countries the guidelines of the “Mattei” Plan, which Italy is willing to develop with representatives of African governments and present to other European states as a model of cooperation and development.
The Italy-Africa Summit is also an opportunity to consolidate the foundations of these relations which are based on several pillars such as: food security, culture, training, energy, economic and infrastructural development, the fight against human trafficking, countering terrorism, and the governance of legal migration.
