Localized heavy thunderstorms, snowfall above 1,500 m, and strong gusts of wind are forecast on March 25 and 26 in several Moroccan provinces.
According to an orange alert bulletin from the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM), localized heavy stormy showers (20-35 mm) are expected on March 25 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Sidi Bennour, El Jadida, Berrechid, Safi, and Essaouira.
The same weather conditions will also prevail from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., in the provinces of Azilal, El Kelaa des Sraghnaa, Fquih Ben Saleh, and Al Haouz.
The provinces of Azilal, Béni Mellal, Al Haouz, Taza, Ifrane, Sefrou, Khénifra, Midelt, Ouarzazate, and Tinghir will witness snowfall (15 -30 cm) on March 26 from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m, while the provinces of Bouarfa, Errachidia, Nador, Midelt, Tinghir, Figuig, Taourirt, Guercif, Zagora, Ouarzazate, and Oujda are expecting strong wind gusts (75-90 km/h) on the same day from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m.
