The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, received, on April 29 in Rabat, his Gambian counterpart Mamadou Tangara, bearer of a written message to His Majesty King Mohammed VI from the President of the Republic of The Gambia, Adama Barrow.
In a statement to the press following this meeting, the Gambian head of diplomacy praised the excellent relations uniting Morocco and The Gambia, welcoming the considerable support provided by the Kingdom, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, for the success of the Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), scheduled to take place on May 4 and 5 in The Gambia.
In a similar context, the official reiterated his country’s desire to continue joint action with Morocco to achieve a prosperous, united, and stable Africa, stressing, in this regard, the importance of the Royal Atlantic Initiative which constitutes “a guarantee of stability and prosperity”.
The Gambian foreign minister also seized this opportunity to reaffirm his country’s support for the Kingdom’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over its entire territory, including the Moroccan Sahara.
