The Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication revealed that the number of visitors to the 29th edition of the International Publishing and Book Fair (SIEL), which wrapped up on the evening of May 19 in Rabat, exceeded 316,000, an increase of 32% compared to the previous edition.
In a press release, the Ministry indicated that this edition constitutes “a new phase in the history of this great cultural event”, demonstrating with each edition the value of the efforts invested in promoting the importance of books.
Organized under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI by the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication, the 29th edition of SIEL witnessed the participation of 743 exhibitors from 48 countries.
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) was the guest of honor of this edition, organized in collaboration with the Wilaya of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region, the Regional Council of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra and the Municipality of Rabat.
