The Moroccan banking sector has joined national solidarity efforts following the devastating earthquake that struck the country on the evening of September 8.
The Moroccan Professional Bank Group (GPBM) has announced that financial institutions are committed to offering their services free of charge for the transfer of donations to the “Special Fund for the Management of the Effects of the Earthquake that Hit the Kingdom of Morocco” regardless of whether these donations are from the public, customers, or non-customers both in Morocco or abroad.
In an unprecedented gesture of solidarity, Moroccan banks have implemented measures to raise awareness among their staff and facilitate donation operations. Bank transfer services will be completely free of charge, regardless of the channel used, to ensure optimal support for donors wishing to contribute to post-disaster reconstruction.
This initiative is a testament to the social responsibility of Moroccan banks and their willingness to make a significant contribution to the ongoing efforts to overcome this crisis.
The Moroccan Professional Bank Group (GPBM) urges all those who can contribute to this fund to support the country’s recovery, as the banks are putting in place the necessary means to facilitate these contributions, whether through bank branches across the country or via online banking services.
