Morocco’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the African Union (AU) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), Mohamed Arrouchi, held talks, on November 20 in Addis Ababa, with the Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), Monique Nsanzabaganwa.
The talks focused on ways of strengthening the role of the pan-African institution in a context marked by challenges on the African continent and Morocco’s role in reinforcing joint African action in favor of the continent’s noble causes, and the vital interests of African citizens in terms of peace, security, and development.
The meeting was also an opportunity to examine prospects of promoting good administrative and financial governance within the institution and the importance of ensuring the African Union Commission (AUC) staff’s compliance with the code of conduct, per the rules and procedures in force, as a prerequisite for strengthening the credibility of the pan-African institution.
