Burkina Faso praised Morocco’s constant efforts, under the Wise and Enlightened Leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, to promote peace and development in Africa.
A joint communiqué issued following the closing of the fourth session of the Joint Cooperation Commission, held in Dakhla, under the co-chairmanship of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and his Burkinabe counterpart, Olivia Ragnaghnewendé Rouamba, stated that “the Burkinabe side welcomes the commitment of Morocco, under the Enlightened Leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, May Allah assist Him, to promoting peace and development in Africa.”
Bourita and Rouamba affirmed that Morocco and Burkina Faso are both committed to preserving peace and stability in Africa in general and in the Sahel region in particular.
In a similar context, the Moroccan and Burkinabe foreign ministers praised their shared views on several issues, reiterating their commitment to investing efforts to resolve conflicts in Africa.
The two ministers also reaffirmed their countries’ commitment to achieving peace and economic development on the African continent, particularly within the framework of the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
On this occasion, Bourita affirmed Morocco’s full solidarity with Burkina Faso in its tireless efforts to counter terrorism and violent extremism, stressing that Burkina Faso will always have in Morocco a partner permanently committed to promoting and supporting its initiatives for stability and development.
For her part, the Burkinabe foreign minister expressed her gratitude to Morocco for its solidarity and support for her country, which is currently facing security and humanitarian challenges.
In a similar context, Morocco and Burkina Faso praised the effective coordination of their actions and mutual support in continental and international forums, pledging to intensify consultations to ensure the alignment of their positions.
The two parties also expressed their mutual satisfaction with the unwavering support each has always shown to the other in several continental and international forums.
In this regard, Morocco and Burkina Faso agreed to continue to support, in a coordinated and mutual approach, the Moroccan and Burkinabe candidacies at these forums.
