Per Very High Royal Instructions, the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government, in charge of National Defense Administration, Abdeltif Loudyi, received, on March 4, in the presence of the Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and Commander of the Southern Zone, Lieutenant General Mohammed Berrid, the Parliamentary State Secretary at the German Federal Ministry of Defence, Thomas Hitschler, who is conducting a working visit to the Kingdom.
On this occasion, the two parties examined topics of common interest and ways to further boost bilateral military cooperation, countering terrorism, illegal migration, cross-border crime, and illicit trafficking.
In this regard, the German official expressed the desire to relaunch bilateral collaboration through the conclusion of a Military Cooperation Agreement, which will be followed by other agreements in the field of defense and the protection of classified information.
For his part, Loudyi highlighted Morocco’s role as an important contributor to stability and peace under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, through the adoption of a multidimensional strategy to counter terrorism and illicit trafficking and ensure border security.
The Moroccan official also shed light on the Royal Initiative aimed at transforming Africa’s Atlantic coast into a pole of economic integration and an area for shared peace, stability and prosperity.
At the end of this meeting, the two parties expressed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral military cooperation on the basis of mutual trust and respect, and exploring new collaboration opportunities.
