The Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM) announced that a heat wave is forecast from July 29 to August 1 in several provinces of the Kingdom, with temperatures reaching up to 47°C.
The Directorate reported that hot weather, ranging from 33°C to 36°C, is forecast for July 29 and 30 in the provinces of Fahs-Anjra and M’Diq-Fnideq, which is listed under the orange alert bulletin.
The cities and provinces of Beni Mellal, Fquih Ben Salah, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Taroudant, Guelmim, Ouarzazate, and Tinghir will witness temperatures between 42°C and 44°C starting from July 29 until July 31.
The same source also stated that a heat wave will persist from July 29 until July 31 in Khouribga, Khenifra, Settat (south), and Boulemane, with temperatures ranging between 39°C and 42°C, and in Azilal, Al Haouz, Ifrane, Chefchaouen, Tétouan, Nador, and Driouch, with temperatures ranging between 35°C and 39°C.
With temperatures ranging from 44°C to 47°C, extremely hot weather is expected between July 29 and August 1 in Tata, Errachidia, and Zagora, and with temperatures ranging from 45°C to 47°C from July 30 to August 1 in Assa-Zag, Es-smara and east of Boujdour, Aousserd, and Oued Ed-Dahab.
