Officers of the Fez Regional Judicial Police Brigade arrested, on August 9, based on precise information provided by the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), a Dutch national who has been the subject of an international search warrant for attempted homicide with a firearm as part of the activities of an organized crime network.
The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) stated in a press release that investigations led to the arrest of the suspect in Meknes, in flagrante delicto, for using a false Belgian identity, adding that the suspect was also in possession of false Belgian papers and identity documents, which he was using to travel to evade the international search warrant issued against him.
According to the information available, the foreigner arrested is 43 years old and the subject of an international search and an Interpol red notice at the request of the Dutch judicial authorities for his alleged involvement in an attempted homicide with a firearm in the Netherlands, as part of the activities of an organized crime network.
The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) concluded that the foreign national was taken into custody for further judicial investigation ordered by the competent Public Prosecutor’s Office to uncover all the details of this case, which is part of the Moroccan security services’ ongoing efforts to strengthen international security cooperation relations and trace foreign nationals on the lookout for transnational crime.
