According to the Moroccan airline, Morocco’s flag carrier Royal Air Maroc (RAM) shall re-establish its direct air route connecting Casablanca and Miami, starting from December 12th, as well as that connecting Casablanca to Doha from December 24th.
As part of the gradual resumption of air traffic, Royal Air Maroc will re-establish, as of December 12th, its direct air route connecting Casablanca and Miami (United States of America). It will also reopen its direct link from Casablanca to Doha (Qatar), from December 24th, 2021,” RAM said in a statement.
The statement also recalled that “The two lines had been suspended in March 2020 due to the health crisis”, indicating that flights from Casablanca to Miami airport will be operated at a rate of two frequencies per week, by Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
“They will be scheduled every Friday and Sunday at 4:30 p.m. (local time) with an arrival in Miami at 7:50 p.m. (local time)”, the same source stated, noting that flights from Miami will be scheduled every Friday and Sunday at 9:50 p.m. (local time) for an arrival in Casablanca at 11:45 a.m. (d + 1).
“We welcome the successive announcements of resumption of flights with important destinations in our network. This indicates a notable improvement in the health situation in our country, as on the international level, and testifies to the confidence we enjoy with all our partners”, CEO of Royal Air Maroc, Hamid Addou, said in a statement to the press.
“We remain mobilized to seize opportunities in order to relaunch additional destinations,” he added.
Miami International Airport is a major hub connecting various nearby airports in Florida, as well as several airports in the south such as Georgia and Texas.
The statement underlined that Royal Air Maroc also tends to link Africa to Central America, owing to the many connection possibilities offered by this airport, as well as the codesharing opportunities via its partner American Airlines, both companies being members of the prestigious Oneworld Alliance.
The national company has three other direct operational lines from Casablanca: New York, Washington, and Montreal. This last air route will be restored as of October 29th.
“With regard to flights connecting Casablanca to Doha international airport, they will depart from Casablanca every Wednesday and Friday at 2:30 p.m. (local time), with an arrival in Doha at 11:20 p.m. (local time)”, RAM indicated.
Further, the airline didn’t hesitate to add that flights from Doha will be scheduled every Thursday and Saturday at 1:20 am (local time) with arrival in Casablanca at 7:25 am (local time).
