A team of three students from the National Institute of Posts and Telecommunications (INPT) won second place in the Arab IoT & AI Challenge at Gitex Technology Week in Dubai.
Morocco is represented at this competition by Kaoutar El Ghaich, Mayssae Chimi, and Hajar Ait Iddir, who shed light on a project whose main theme addresses reducing food waste.
To take part in the contest, students are supposed to propose a project that falls within the framework of artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things. To choose the representatives of Morocco at this event, a preliminary selection was made in Morocco, with the participation of a set of engineering schools, universities, and institutes.
In a statement to MAP, the student Kaoutar El Ghaich claimed that her team has participated in several competitions and won a wide range of awards thanks to this project developed last year, indicating that the students of the INPT were able to develop and present their projects as part of a restructuring of the educational model of the Institute, which mainly involves 7 aspects of the field of digitalization.
Arab IoT & AI is a regional capacity building and pre-incubation program for University Students, students of High School and Startups that have got innovative ideas in the areas of Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and related fields.
