European Commissioner for Home Affairs, Ylva Johansson, presented on June 6, the European Union’s (EU) action plan for migration routes in the Western Mediterranean and Atlantic, underlining the key role that Morocco plays as a partner in the joint management of migration.
“Our key partner, Morocco, is a very important partner for us to manage migration together,” stated Johansson, expressing her thanks to “the Moroccan authorities and the Moroccan government for their constructive engagement in migration management.”
The Commissioner also highlighted the strong and credible partnership between Morocco and the European Union (EU) in managing migration, stressing the importance of supporting Morocco’s actions to combat irregular migration and human trafficking.
“We are ready to support all this work with our means,” concluded the Commissioner.
