Exports of agri-food: Morocco complies with Saudi Arabia’s Halal

In order to substantially increase the volume of Moroccan exports of agri-food products to Saudi Arabia, the two countries signed, on Monday, October 3, 2022, an agreement providing for Morocco to comply with the Saudi “Halal” label.

This bilateral agreement on Morocco’s compliance with the Saudi “Halal” label, known as a memorandum of understanding, was signed in Rabat by the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Ryad Mezzour, and his Saudi Arabian counterpart, Majid Bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi.

The Saudi minister is currently on a working visit to Morocco at the head of a large delegation made up of 90 people, including 62 businessmen. The rest of the delegation being the representatives of different ministerial departments. Saudi businessmen will meet, Tuesday, October 4, 2022 in Casablanca, their Moroccan counterparts as part of an Economic Forum.
