The deputy spokesperson for the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Christophe Lemoine, confirmed on February 22, the planned visit of the new head of French diplomacy, Stéphane Séjourné, to Morocco.
During a press briefing at the Quai d’Orsay, the spokesperson expressed his country’s “very clear wish” to regain the Kingdom’s trust and embark on a new chapter of cooperation between the two countries.
“There is a very clear wish from the minister to invest ‘personally’ in Franco-Moroccan relations,” affirmed Lemoine, indicating that the objective is to come up with a new political agenda and restore confidence within this old friendship.
Speaking about the foreign minister’s potential visit to Morocco, the spokesperson the department is “working on a visit in the coming days”, without mentioning specific dates.
