On Sunday, the researcher Hasnaa Chennaoui was awarded in Italy the prize of “Hypatia International Award”, in recognition of her scientific work in Geology.
Hasnaa Chennaoui, professor at the Hassan II University of Casablanca and president of the Attarik Foundation for meteorite sciences and planetology, has for more than twenty years promoted scientific research, preservation, and enhancement of the geological heritage in Morocco.
According to a statement from the Attarik Foundation, this award is intended to convey recognition of such an extraordinary achievement of this objective, as well as honoring women and men whose commitment to their fields of research, arts and crafts have contributed to the advancement of scientific knowledge and the improvement of life.
This first edition of the “International Hypatia Award” rewarded ten eminent personalities with a wide cross-section of backgrounds, views and competencies from the four continents, selected by an international committee on the basis of very rigorous criteria.
