His Majesty King Mohammed VI was named the 7th most influential Muslim person in the world in the 2022 edition of “The Muslim 500” ranking, carried out by the Jordanian Center for Islamic Research and Studies.
The Moroccan Monarch occupies the 7th place in this ranking, dominated by the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim ben Hamad Al Thani, followed by the king of Saudi Arabia, Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud and Grand Ayatollah Hajj Sayyid Ali Khamenei. Last year, King Mohammed VI was ranked seventh.
“King Mohammed VI is the direct descendant of the Prophet Mohammad and his family has ruled Morocco for almost 400 years. He is also recognized by the Moroccan constitution as Commander of the Faithful, thus combining religious and political authority,” the center wrote in the biography dedicated to the sovereign.
