His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah assist Him, chaired on September 20, at the Royal Palace in Rabat, a working session devoted to the reconstruction and general upgrading program for the regions affected by Al Haouz earthquake.
This working session is in line with the High Directives issued by the Sovereign during the meetings of September 9 and 14, which outlined an integrated and ambitious program designed to provide a strong, coherent, rapid, and proactive response to face the consequences of the earthquake.
With an estimated overall budget of MAD 120 billion over a five-year period, the first version of the integrated, multi-sectoral program presented to the Sovereign covers the six provinces and prefectures affected by the earthquake (Marrakech, Al Haouz, Taroudant, Chichaoua, Azilal, and Ouarzazate), targeting 4.2 million people.
