His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, may Allah assist him, accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, HH Prince Moulay Ahmed, and HH Prince Moulay Ismail, performed, on Saturday, Eid al-Fitr prayer at al Mohammadi Mosque in Casablanca.
Coming from the Royal Palace of Casablanca, the Royal procession headed for al Mohammadi Mosque amid the cheers of the citizens who came to express their best wishes to HM the King and to share with the Sovereign the joy of this happy feast which crowns the holy month of Ramadan.
Upon His arrival at the Mosque, HM the King reviewed a detachment of the Royal Guard which paid Him the honors.
Following al-Eid prayer, the Imam delivered a sermon in which he underlined that believers spent the holy month of Ramadan in an atmosphere of piety, spirituality, divine blessing, and meditation, adding that the day of Eid al Fitr is a time of joy and generosity towards the poor, especially through Zakat al-Fitr (alms for breaking the fast).
The holy month of Ramadan was marked by several commendable initiatives and projects undertaken by HM King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, may Allah assist him, in different areas, the Imam continued, noting that this month was marked by the religious talks, which bring together each year, under the presidency of the Sovereign, the elite of the ulemas to exchange and debate multiple issues of interest to the Islamic Ummah.
At the end of his sermon, the imam implored Allah to glorify, assist and preserve HM King Mohammed VI, to crown His steps of success, and to fulfill the Sovereign in the people of HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid and all the members of the illustrious Royal Family.
The Imam also prayed for the eternal rest of the Father of the Nation, the late His Majesty King Mohammed V, and the late His Majesty King Hassan II, may Allah surround Them with His Holy mercy.
His Majesty the King then returned to the Royal Palace amid the cheers of citizens who had come in large numbers to wish, on this blessed day, long life to the Sovereign and to reiterate their unfailing attachment to the Glorious Alawid Throne.
At the Royal Palace, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, and HH Prince Moulay Ahmed, received the greetings of the Head of Government, the presidents of the two Houses of Parliament, the president-delegate of the Superior Council of the Judiciary, First President of the Court of Cassation, the president of the Public Ministry, Public Prosecutor of the King at the Court of Cassation, presidents constitutional bodies, the dean of the Islamic diplomatic corps in Morocco, the Ambassador of Cameroon and several high civil and military personalities.
