Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, stated on November 20 in Berlin, that Germany can count on Morocco in its “successful partnership” with African countries.
In a statement to the press on the occasion of his participation in the G20 “Compact With Africa” Investment Summit, Akhannouch affirmed that the partnership between Morocco and Germany is experiencing a steady development, particularly given the increase in the volume of German investments in the Kingdom, which have been multiplied by six between 2015 and 2022.
Stressing the “great importance” of the “Compact With Africa” summit, in which Morocco has played a central role for several years, the Moroccan official stated that the summit was “an opportunity to shed light on Morocco’s investment prospects, particularly in promising fields such as green hydrogen and the automotive industry, which enjoy the special attention of His Majesty King Mohammed VI”.
“This summit was also an opportunity to highlight the Royal Initiative aimed at strengthening access to the Atlantic for Sahelian countries,” noted Akhannouch, adding that this is a “major initiative involving 23 countries on the Atlantic coast, which are brimming with promising potential”.
The summit’s opening brought together high-level German and African representatives from the worlds of business and politics to discuss the strengthening of economic relations and the implementation of joint projects.
