Israel Appoints First Military Attaché to Morocco

Following its historic decision in support of the Moroccanity of the Sahara, Israel has appointed Sharon Itach as military attaché to Morocco.

Itach is Israel’s first military attaché to be appointed in Morocco in the context of growing diplomatic relations between Morocco and Israel.

Colonel Itach, of Moroccan origins, heads the Home Front Command’s Haifa district and previously led the Israeli army’s 489th Kedem Search and Rescue Battalion.

This appointment follows Israeli soldiers’ first participation in the annual “African Lion” Exercise, which took place between June 5 and 16 in Morocco.
