Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami, held talks, Monday in Rabat, with a Czech parliamentary delegation, which includes members of the Committee for European Affairs at the Czech Chamber of Deputies, led by the Deputy Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Jan Skopeček.
According to a statement by the House of Representatives, Skopeček highlighted the strong friendship and cooperation ties linking Morocco and the Czech Republic, adding that Morocco is a force for stability in the region.
Skopeček noted several opportunities that must be seized to promote economic, tourism, and cultural exchanges between the two countries, stressing that “the Kingdom is a strategic ally of the Czech Republic.”
The parliamentary delegation also stressed the importance the Czech Republic attaches to relations with the Kingdom and the need to develop and expand cooperation to cover other fields, particularly green economy, clean energy, industry, education, health, and migration.
For his part, Talbi Alami praised the distinguished relations between the legislative institutions of the two countries, recalling that the two Houses, linked by an institutional twinning project, adhere to major regional and international parliamentary organizations.
On this occasion, Talbi Alami also mentioned the major projects launched by the Kingdom under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed 6th, particularly relating to socio-economic and cultural development, the promotion of the conditions of human capital, enhancing democracy, human rights and the rule of law, the protection of women’s rights and the consolidation of peace, religious tolerance, and coexistence.
This meeting was marked by the presence of the Czech Ambassador to Morocco, Ladislav Skerik, and members of the Parliamentary Committee for European Affairs in the Czech Chamber of Deputies, and the Moroccan side, the chairman of the Morocco-Czech Republic Parliamentary Friendship Group, Representative Houssain Ben Taieb.
