The Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration and Family, Aawatif Hayar, held, Monday in Rabat, talks with the Qatari Minister of Social Development and Family, Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, on strengthening bilateral relations.
On this occasion, Hayar highlighted the strong ties uniting Morocco and Qatar, stressing that Morocco achieved, under the Wise Leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, significant progress in establishing a society founded on protecting and promoting human rights.
Hayar explained that the 2021-2026 governmental program is committed to increasing women’s activity rate up to 30% by 2026 compared to the current 20%.
Hayar noted that the institutional framework for equality was strengthened through the establishment of the National Committee for Gender Equality and Women’s Advancement, recalling “Jisr” strategy that aims for a comprehensive, innovative, and sustainable social development and the preparation of the third government plan for equality for 2022-2026.
The Moroccan Minister also emphasized the importance of family as a means of promoting equality and family orientation, noting that the Ministry had launched a call for proposals for associations that support the family before marriage, in addition to the Ministry’s action for the support of productive families.
For her part, Al Misnad praised the historical relations between Morocco and Qatar, shedding light on several partnership areas related to women, children, people with disabilities, and the family and on the missions of some social services centers.
Al Misnad also highlighted several programs and projects related to women and family, stressing the role of the productive family and national and local products in strengthening women’s economic independence.
The Qatari Minister recalled, in this regard, the “Aman Center” that protects abused women and children exposed to any form of violence, explaining that this center also offers consultations for women and children.
The meeting was also an opportunity to review and exchange the different social services offered to Moroccans and Qataris in the social field.
